Completion of Surgical Complex in Sengerema

Take a look at the latest update on the construction project by Stichting Simba: the new surgical complex for the Sengerema District Hospital in Tanzania. This complex is a significant addition to the healthcare services in the region and will greatly enhance the capacity and quality of surgical care.

Now that most of the construction is complete, the process of furnishing the complex can begin. The spaces are ready to be equipped with medical equipment and supplies, allowing the operating rooms and other departments to be operational soon. This next phase brings the hospital one step closer to providing even better care to the people of Sengerema and surrounding areas.

The surgical complex has been designed with a focus on functionality. The floors are finished with durable epoxy, which not only adds to the modern look but is also essential for hygiene and ease of maintenance. The walls feature ombre color transitions, with each part of the building having its own color scheme. This creates a calm and organized atmosphere throughout the complex.

Inside, the building houses several essential spaces, including a recovery ward where patients can recuperate in a comfortable environment after surgery. There are four spacious operating rooms, equipped to handle a wide range of surgical procedures. For women’s healthcare, there is a dedicated gynecology room, which is an important addition to the hospital.

Additionally, the complex includes a large storage area and a central sterilization unit. This department ensures that all medical instruments are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, which is vital for the safety of both patients and staff.

With this new surgical complex, the Sengerema District Hospital is now better equipped to provide high-quality, safe healthcare to the local community. This project marks a significant step forward in the development of healthcare in the region.
