HELP! A GOOD AMBULANCE SAVES LIVES
Sengerema ambulance has to retire after 33 years and 1,000,000+ km on the counter
On behalf of Simba Health, we are busy tackling the emergency room (ED) in Sengerema hospital. We are currently setting up a special room for this next to the main entrance to the hospital. Simba also provides a new X-ray machine (€150,000). We were able to send several nurses to Mwanza for emergency room training. A remaining pain point is that the hospital only has one old ambulance, without special equipment (see photo above).
Unfortunately, we are seeing more and more serious traffic accidents (often involving motorcycle taxis). Furthermore, there are regular last-minute referrals to our hospital, for example due to complications during childbirth in rural clinics. In emergency care, it is important to take care of patients as quickly and well as possible, even before they arrive at the hospital. And we also regularly have to refer patients to St. Clare or the academic hospital in Mwanza. A good ambulance saves lives.
The emergency department is almost ready. In our current 5-year project we unfortunately do not have a budget for a new ambulance and therefore we would like to call on your help. With an amount of €50,000 we can purchase the new ambulance pictured below. Will you help give our patients an even greater chance of recovery this year with this new ambulance? You can contribute to this via the Stichting Simba account number NL97 INGB 0008166353, stating 'Ambulance' (your donation is of course deductible for the tax authorities with ANBI code 809214155).
